Design Services

The Sticker Company operates a full production design studio on premises, taking you concept from the first step of basic design through to a finished piece of art. Every client of The Sticker Company is unique and your artwork will be kept this way to ensure individuality. Many of our customers are happy with our speed to produce artwork and are delighted with first drafts or minor amendments that are made to satisfy your needs.

Programs

Our graphic arts section is PC based, with Coreldraw 13 and Adobe Illustrator CS being our preferred file formats. Higher quality results are obtained using these programs, giving better colour separation accuracy. We do not except Quark files, however if this is all you work with please convert text to outlinesand save as both a PDF and an EPS file and send us both - we then import into one of our programs above to work with it. Please note that any Gif or Jpeg files you send may not be of satisfaction due to compression factors. Any files received in Word, Excel etc may only be used for simple designs or text or may have to be redrawn to satisfy our prepress stage.

Hardware

Any files that cannot be e-mailed, may be sent to us via mail on a 1.44MB disc or cdrom otherwise we do provide a FTP site to accommodate for those files which are too large to e-mail

Handy Hints

When designing artwork for The Sticker Company for label printing please use vector based programs only (Corel & Illustrator CS) - doing this will allow for better printing results i.e. Sharpness, Separations and speedy proofing.

Photographic or full colour designs should be embedded into the art file and have all text created to vector images.

When designing for Flexo labels please do not create any artwork that has a dot size any smaller than 3% as our platemaking process cannot handle any less than this.

When designing for Foiled labels please do not create any artwork that has screen work or a font size any smaller than 5 Point - close registration of borders or text are not really suited to this printing process aswell.

If artwork has bleed (the cut die line touches the printed image), allow a 2mm overprint for this to ensure a clean edge of finished print.

Please remember to convert all fonts to curves to ensure your font does not change - in case we do not have you font on file. Failure to do this will prevent mistakes and slow down the approval process.

Proofing

If you have had your job printed previously by another supplier, please supply a colour printed proof as this will help us ensure we provide you with the label you would be expecting. Labels can be printed in many different ways and it is hard to tell exactly what you would be expecting so any printed materials previously printed would be greatly appreciated.

The Sticker Company will always send a coloured PDF proof via e-mail or a faxed mono proof if preferred, before we print your goods - any concerns and we can organise a press proof on Digital processes of samples of other jobs for other print processes.
